The WIND TOWER technology can be deployed for wind applications in farms or as a standalone units for distributed generation. Other exceptionally attractive WIND TOWER applications exist: High-rise rooftop/buildings, integral with electric utility transmission towers (with the same structure, transmission as well as generation of electricity is possible), any depth offshore platforms whether fixed or floating/tension legged, and integral with telecom/cellular towers, etc.

MAP Economy
Standard large bladed wind turbines cost and complexity of fabricating the large blades and rotors, some with diameters now as large as 150 meters, have made the pay back on investment of such turbines marginal. Plus, they stay relegated to under 5 MW capacity. Single WIND TOWER units may be constructed to capacities exceeding 20 MW using rotors a small fraction the size of conventional wind or hydro turbines with equal power capacity.

Utility scale capacity WIND TOWER wind systems are projected to be produced and installed, depending on size and number of units and site conditions. Since electricity prices are set by a sale price, not the cost of production, margins are therefore significantly greater for WIND TOWER technology than standard large blade turbines.

MAP Efficiency
The design of the WIND TOWER creates an increase in wind speed around the modules to which the rotors are attached, not unlike the effect seen in nature's saddle ridge mountain passes, only better.

Since wind speed has a cubic effect on power generation, WIND TOWER technology significantly improves the power output versus use of just ambient wind speeds, thereby creating much more power density per unit diameter by amplifying the ambient wind to the rotors about a WIND TOWER.

Other benefits such as greatly reduced tip losses, skewing of the amplified high energy wind to the outboard working section of the rotors, and ability to eliminate or significantly reduce step-up gearboxes all enhance efficiency as well as reduce cost for WIND TOWER systems.
